Where Base Bid is different

  • Only construction and A/E. Every item in the daily email is a construction or A/E notice. There are no unrelated services or supply buys to scroll past.
  • The market around the notice. The recompete calendar, contract vehicle index, GSA lease pages and sources sought market research reports are built for construction firms and sit next to the daily email.
  • Reports written for your firm. Every Base Bid report is written for a specific contractor and a specific opportunity, with AI analysis of you and your competitors. Reports include a Black Hat review, subcontractor intelligence (which subcontractors your competitors lean on and which ones you could bring onto your team) and other market indicators. A search tool shows you the notice. These reports show you the field you are bidding into.
  • Nothing twice. A notice you already received comes back only if it changes, and then it is marked as changed. Days with no matches send no email.
  • Written from the government side of the table. The publication is built by a former federal construction contracting officer and competition advocate.

Where SAM.gov Hunter is stronger

  • State and local coverage, which Base Bid does not offer.
  • Subcontractor search, plus an AI proposal writer and template auto fill on the top paid plan.
  • A free plan with live search, useful for trying it before you pay.

Which should you choose?

  • If construction or A/E is your business, choose Base Bid. Base Bid reads the opportunity for you: reports written for your firm and a specific bid, with a Black Hat review of your competitors, subcontractor intelligence on who they lean on and who you could team with, and the market indicators around the bid.
  • Choose Base Bid if you want an answer, not a search box. A search tool leaves you to dig through results and figure out the field yourself. Base Bid puts the competitive picture in front of you and a short email in your inbox by 7 a.m. Eastern.
  • Choose Hunter only if you also bid state and local work, or you want an AI proposal writer. Many firms use Hunter for proposal drafting and Base Bid to decide where to bid and how to beat the field.
