Updates and versions
Current version: 1.4.0. BaseBid Command is a one-time purchase. Here is exactly what updates cost, how to install them, and how the data files are refreshed.
Updates
Every new version released in the 12 months after you buy is free, including major versions, and security fixes for your version are always free. For the next 3 years, upgrades are 50% off list. After that, upgrades are full price. Updates never force a subscription.
To update, back up, replace the app file with the new one in the same place, and open it in the same browser. Your records, custom fields, branding and AI key stay exactly as they were.
Versions
We number releases like 1.4.0: the last number is fixes, the middle number is new features, and the first number is a major change we announce at least 90 days ahead.
Data files
Your purchase includes The Base Bid data files current when you buy, plus every new edition released in the next 12 months. Each file shows its edition (for example 2026.09). A newer edition imports into the same records without making copies. After 12 months, new editions come with Base Bid Pro or the annual data subscription.

How to update, step by step
- In the app, open Settings and click Back up now. With a team folder, versions are saved automatically, but a backup costs nothing.
- Download the new zip from the link in your update email.
- Replace the old app file with the new one in the same place, with the same file name, and open it in the same browser you always use. Your records live in the browser and your team folder, not in the file, so nothing is lost.
- Check the version number at the bottom of Settings.
- Working as a team? Everyone should update within 14 days.
Backups and team versions from any older 1.x version open in any newer 1.x version. Custom fields, custom tabs, templates, branding and saved reports carry forward. Older versions keep working offline if you choose not to update.
When releases happen
- Security fixes: within 3 business days of confirmation, and every buyer is emailed.
- Fixes for anything that could lose data: within 5 business days.
- AI provider or government data changes: within 10 business days when the app needs a change. Retired AI models usually need no update, because the app loads the models your account can use.
- New features: about once a quarter.
- Major versions: announced at least 90 days ahead.
